Ajos deep-sea port is the northernmost general port in Finland, offering chemical zoning suitable for industrial, energy and logistics activities. The port provides year-round deep-water access, strong safety standards and available land for scalable industrial development, with good connections to Baltic and Arctic shipping routes.
The area has access to the national grid and potential for further electrical capacity expansion, as well as opportunities for on-site renewable energy generation, including solar and hybrid renewable–hydrogen solutions. These features support low-carbon and power-intensive industrial projects.
For hydrogen and energy-sector investors, Ajos combines port proximity with industrial flexibility, enabling modular construction, efficient import and export flows, and integrated energy storage or production concepts. It is well suited for maritime hydrogen use cases, P2X applications and grid-connected industrial operations.
Ajos also hosts an existing fuel terminal that can serve as a foundation for future development into a P2X and CO₂ logistics hub. In the future, the area could support the handling, storage and maritime transport of synthetic fuels and captured CO₂, positioning Ajos as a key node in emerging low-carbon energy and logistics value chains.
